If you would like to post content unsuitable for users under the age of 18 to pixiv, you can adjust the age restriction so such works are only displayed to users who can view such material.
In order to post works with content unsuitable for users under the age of 18, you will need to satisfy the following requirements:
Be 18 or older yourself
Have an account with the display of age-restricted works (R-18) and grotesque works (R-18G) enabled.
* Your birthday will need to be set to change the age restriction setting.
When posting works, you absolutely must make sure you set the appropriate age restriction according to the list below:
All ages
There's nothing within the work that needs to be age-restricted
Only mild sexual depictions (Novel works do not need to set this)
Includes depictions alluding to sexual act and behaviors, or depict actions that imitate sexual acts and behavior regardless of age and sex; the depiction of kisses, hugs, and underwear.
Emphasis on breasts, cleavage, nipples, buttocks, groin areas, and the like; compositions that focus on any of these body parts.
Depictions of characters wearing incredibly revealing clothes, of characters in swimsuits, of characters in see-through or transparent clothing, as well as of characters who clearly appear naked.
R-18 (Sexually explicit content)
Anything sexually related, or works that depict contact between genitalia, or anything which strongly resembles any sexual act.
R-18G (grotesque/violent content)
Scenes with intense violence, ideas, or realistic depictions of life that could be highly dangerous or disturbing to minors.
Works marked as R-18 or R-18G will not be visible to the following users:
Users under 18
Users who have set their accounts viewing restrictions to not display R-18 or R-18G works.
Please note that tagging your work with R-18 or R-18G does not limit who is able to view it. You will need to manually set the appropriate age restriction.
Furthermore, you will need to make sure your works are appropriately censored using pixelation or other techniques according to our Guidelines. pixiv is based in Japan, and as such, Japanese law (including those regarding pornography) applies to all content posted on pixiv.
If we determine that work you've posted is not taking the appropriate censorship actions, we take measures that include suspending your account.
Age restrictions for novel series
You can set the age restrictions for a series based on the content of the works belonging to that series.
If the series includes R-18 works...
The series' age restriction can't be set to All ages.
If the series includes R-18G works...
The series' age restriction can't be set to All ages or R-18.
If you wish to select an unavailable age restriction, remove R-18 and R-18G works from the series first.
