You can create manuscript data from a novel you've posted to pixiv, and use it to print books through pixivFACTORY.
Please check the following notes, and follow the steps outlined below.
Notes
- Illustrations are not supported.
- Links within the body text, links to other pages, and links to reference materials in novels with special tags are not supported.
- Currently, there is no feature allowing a series to be printed all at once.
- You cannot change the font/text size.
- Emojis and special characters specifically for digital devices may not be displayed properly.
- You may print books that are written in languages other than Japanese. However, please note that the pixivFACTORY service itself is only available in Japanese.
Printing procedure

On mobile
- Open the novel you wish to print on pixivFACTORY, and tap "Print on FACTORY"
- A preview will be displayed. If you want to make any changes or such as changing the title or adjusting the line spacing, tap the "Customize" button. For more details about customization, check here. The cover is generated automatically and cannot be changed through the Customize page. You can set the cover to your own artwork via the pixivFACTORY printing page. (See step 8)
Preview notes- Only the first open page of the body will be displayed in the preview. You can check the other pages after downloading them.
- The maximum number of pages is 200 pages including the covers (covers are counted as 4 pages in total). If your novel is over 200 pages, a warning message will be displayed at the bottom of the preview indicating that the page limit is 200 pages, and you will not be able to tap "Proceed to printing".
- The title page, contents page, and colophon will be numbered in light grey in the top right corner, but these numbers will not actually be printed.
- The cover and title page will show generated information in light grey in the bottom right corner, but this information will not actually be printed.
- Once you have checked the preview, tap "Proceed to printing".
- The "Review book information (colophon)" page will be displayed. Please check that the information is correct and tap "Next".
* The colophon is the page at the end of the book containing information about the author, publisher, publish location, etc. This information is generated automatically. (You can edit this via the Customize page) - Download "cover.png" and "body.pdf" from the Proceed to printing page.
* It may take some time for the download to begin.
▶ How to save PDF data
* The way to save PDF data can vary depending on your device/OS.
iPhone- You may be able to specify the save location when downloading the PDF. Please choose a save location and download the PDF. Select "Save to File" to do so.
If you downloaded without specifying a save location, it will most likely be saved to your "Downloads" folder. - Select "Save to File", and download the PDF data to the location of your choice.
Android- It will be saved into the "Downloads" folder on your Android device.
- It will be saved into the "Downloads" folder on your Android device.
- You may be able to specify the save location when downloading the PDF. Please choose a save location and download the PDF. Select "Save to File" to do so.
- Once the download is complete, tap "Open pixivFACTORY printing page".
* The "Book specifications" on the Proceed to printing page contains information that will be needed when printing on pixivFACTORY, so please do not close this tab. - Please copy the information outlined in the "Book specifications" on the Proceed to printing page, and enter the same information into the Book specifications on the pixivFACTORY printing page.
* If you accidentally closed the pixiv "Book specifications" tab, please make sure to set the No. of pages to the page count of the PDF +4 pages. - Tap "Proceed to printing" and the manuscript data upload page will be displayed. Upload the cover data and body data that you downloaded in step 5.
* If you want to use a different cover than the auto-generated one, please use this as a size reference and upload an image that is the same size.
▶ How to upload data
* The upload method varies depending on your device, OS, and download location.
iPhone- You can upload the cover data via "Cover manuscript", and the body data via "Body manuscript".
Tap Select file > Downloads folder > select cover.png and body.pdf
* If you are unable to upload data from Cloud on iPhone or iPad, please check here.
Android
1. Tap drag & drop cover manuscript, choose the cover image's save location and select "File". - Select File, and tap "Downloads" on the drop-down menu on the top left.
- Tap "cover.png" in the downloads folder to upload it.
- Upload "body.pdf" using the same method.
- You can upload the cover data via "Cover manuscript", and the body data via "Body manuscript".
- Once the upload is complete, enter the title and confirm the checklist. (A preview cannot be generated if the title has not been input)
- Tap "Preview" to see a preview of the final result. When you tap "Preview", warning messages asking you to check your PDF conversion software and check the edge design will be displayed, please tap "Confirm" to proceed and generate the preview.
* If there are many pages it may take some time to generate the preview.
* A blank page will be added behind the colophon to adjust the page count. - If you are satisfied that everything has been entered correctly and there look to be no mistakes in the preview, tap "Print", and tap "Proceed to order". If you wish to sell on BOOTH, tap "Sell online".
You will then be able to choose the type of paper for the cover and the body of the book. For more details about choosing the type of paper, check here.
If you want to check the book information you have uploaded later, check here.
On desktop
- Open the novel you wish to print on pixivFACTORY, and click "Print with pixivFACTORY"

Printing through pixiv FACTORY is currently not available on the pixiv app.
